Welcome to Word M World
My name is Mikis Mazarakis and I’m a 27-year-old writer currently residing in Sweden. Regardless of how you have found my website, it makes me very glad that you are here.
Please feel very welcome.
Word M World is the result of an idea that came to me several years ago, and one that I have been working on to materialize ever since. The idea was to take advantage of the many new possibilities that the Internet has brought about and to use this excellent means of communication as a platform for my writings, ideas and artwork.
For as long as we can remember, artists and writers have always been dependent on forces beyond themselves in order to communicate with their audience, since the channels of distribution have been controlled by those with resources and power.
In other words: for as long as we can remember, it has been extremely rare to find a writer or artist who has been completely free in his or her creative process. This, however, is about to change. This, however, has already changed.
Thanks to the Internet, it is now possible for a writer like myself to publish material and reach out to an audience without having my ideas approved (censored) by the cultural establishment.
This is what I realized a few years back. And this is why I took the decision of doing no business whatsoever with the big publishing houses. Just like mainstream media, it is my belief that the mainstream publishers are more interested in fulfilling their own cynical agenda of remaining in power than in the distribution of texts and ideas that are of true value for the public. Texts and ideas that can enlighten people instead of dumbing them down; texts and ideas that illustrate how magnificent and wonderful the human being is, instead of falsely showing how cruel and atrocious we are; texts and ideas that can help us look optimistically at our future, instead of drowning in the trenches of despair.
I deeply believe that the human being is a magnificent and wonderful creature, that we can be incredibly intelligent and wise, that we are always moving towards a brighter future - even though we sometimes, as we are doing right now, need to fight through hardships in order to fulfill our true potential.
Regardless of whether I’m working on a poetic, philosophical or narrative text, it is always with these basic assumptions about life that I write. And likewise, it is always my ambition that you, the reader, shall feel the same after having read any of my texts and visited my website.
I’ve created Word M World so that it should be easily navigated. But in case you would like an overview, below you will find a short presentation of all my writings.
